Days 7&8

Day 7----a whole lot of nothing!! My sweet friend brought dinner for us and it was delicious!!!

Day 8----I made a grooming appointment for my sweet Sippi. My MIL took her this morning. On the way home we stopped by Starbucks! That venti pumpkin spice latte did the trick!!!

I love naps! When I have to go back to school, I'm not gonna lie, I will miss these naps!!!!!

After I woke up I got busy. On the laptop that is! I did lesson plans and all sorts of things!!!! :)

I started reading Gone Girl the other day! My oh my is it intense!!!! It's hard to put down! I have a feeling I will finish it tomorrow.

Tonight I wanted to get out of the house so we went to Culvers to eat. I was really hurting after that!!!

Day 6

See a trend here? It is driving me absolutely crazy not being able to do anything! Lol!!!! This is what I do. All.day.long! 

I am trying to not take as much pain meds. Today I was pretty misersble. 

Yesterday Round 1 nurse (my mom) left but today Round 2 nurse (my MIL) arrived from Alabama! I am being well taken care of while the hubby is working. He is working ALOT! :( 

Sippi is taking care of me too by loving and cuddling!! 

It is Tylenol PM time---I want some sleep tonight!

Days 4 & 5

Friday: Today was a cold rainy day! I'm still hurting but I'm REALLY tired of laying! I did a little bit of work on my laptop. Not much happening today. We ordered pizza. 

Saturday:  I slept really good! Mom let me sleep while she was cleaning away! Mom made sure I had a clean house to look at!!! Today was a sad day---Mom left to go back home. I sure do miss her! After she left I had a shower! It was hard work but worth it!!! Then we went out to eat for lunch at one of my favorite places-Mi Cocina!  We got home and I could tell my foot was swollen. It hurt! I just rested the rest of the evening. Then I couldn't sleep. I watched a really good movie on Amazon Prime! It is called The Christmas Snow.

Very good! 

Day 3

Last night I started having pain. The numbness was gone. Thank heavens for pain meds!!!

Today I have still been in a lot of pain. My sweet mama washed my hair and I put on clean clothes. We also watched the new Sound of Music!

This evening cabin fever set in. We got out of the house, went to Hobby Lobby, Culvers for dinner, and to see Christmas lights!

I may pay for it later, but I enjoyed getting out!!

Day 2

Well today was pretty much spent sleeping, watching TV, and reading. Not much to report today. My mom is here and I am enjoying that. She is cooking dinner now. I am tired of laying down but I am keeping my foot propped, doctor's orders!!! 

This is my view. All.day.long! 

Book review

Since I am having to keep my foot elevated, I downloaded lots of books! The first one I read was Because of Mr Terupt by Rob Buyea. 

This is a young adult book so it was a very quick read. It is about a teacher that changes his class in more ways than he could have ever imagined!!! I loved it! I think you will too!

Day 1---day of achilles surgery

I am doing this to document for myself! Lol

5:00 woke up, got ready

5:15 left for Baylor Hospital--Dallas

5:50 arrive

6:00 register

6:30 get dressed "hospital style"--/lovely backless dress!!! Ha!

6:45 IV time

7ish Dr comes in, marks my foot where incision will be; giving doctor's orders; then anesthesiologist comes in, tells me about infusion pump that will numb my foot for two days (glorious!!)

7:30 walk to OR(it was weird to WALK to OR!!)

Infusion pump installed....and it HURT!

They rolled me over, put me to sleep, and then opened me up. I had bone fragments floating around! Yuck! Detached achilles, sawed off huge chunk of bone, reattached achilles, sewed me up, put splint on, rolled me to recovery.

10ish--i wake up! Stephen comes back to recovery room. It's DR PEPPER TIME!!! Yippeee!!!

Then I go home!!!!

This surgery went so much better than the one in 2010 on the other foot! My dr was awesome!!! Dr Royer at Baylor is the bomb!!!

The only trouble I am having is sore throat. The tube bruised the back of my throat really bad. So I am drinking lots of water. Which is making me have to go to bathroom. Alot. Which is not easy! Lol
