His party ended up not being a surprise, but we had so much fun!  It was decorated with Mississippi State décor.  He loved every minute of it.

lately….

Well, for all 2 of you that still follow my blog, here is an update as to why I have been missing lately.  I have about 1,000 unread posts in Google Reader!!!  LOL  School has been keeping me so busy so when I get home, I barely have the gumption to eat dinner and then I am lazy and watch TV while doing my lymphedema pump!!  Seriously, this has been THE most stressful year that I can remember.  My district is trying to kick up the rigor and is really focusing on literacy in K-2.  Don’t get me wrong, I think it is definitely important!  That is why I am holding myself to higher standards and trying to make our days so much more rigorous.  Our focus is on reading, high frequency words, comprehension, fluency, mainly doing most of our instruction during our small group instruction.  We are doing daily 5 as well.  It is so fun watching the progress this time of the year.  And, I can’t believe it is already December!!!!   Where is this year going??? 

We are spending Thanksgiving in Alabama with my in-laws.  Yesterday we went over to Starkville, MS to visit my hubby’s alma mater and restock his closet.  On our way back to their house we went through Tuscaloosa.  It has been since April and it was just really sad still.  Whole blocks totally obliterated….gone, vanished………It’s hard to imagine until you see it in person. 

Only 15 more days until Christmas break…….OH, I will be busy planning my hubby’s 4oth birthday party!!  It was going to be a surprise but I decided to tell him.

MIA and a finished scrapbook….

You all, the only excuse I have for not posting in forever is that these first graders are kicking my tail!!  They are keeping me busy nonstop.  Procedures, procedures, procedures!!!  Tonight we had a little scrapbooking get together and I finished my cruise scrapbook finally!
