Tech Tip Tuesday

teacher week 2012

One of the most valuable lessons I learned as far as technology goes is to use Powerpoint for creating everything!  I rarely use Word anymore.  It is much easier to manipulate images and text boxes in Powerpoint!!!

Another valuable lesson I learned was how to use the “Snapshot” in a PDF.  Our school gives us problem solving in PDF’s, so if I want just a specific problem, I use the snapshot tool and highlight what I want to take a snapshot of.  It’s great!!!!

teacher week 2012

Here are a few of my favorite things!

June 15 dining room

First and foremost, I could not teach without this man.  (Well, I could but he is so very helpful!!)  He is very much a supporter of me and my classroom.  He never hesitates to help with anything I ask of him.

coffee

COFFEE!!  I have a cup every morning to get me going.

dr pepper

I usually have one of these once I get to school.  I try to drink the diet version as much as possible though.

I use these for everything!!!

markers

I like to use these for my anchor charts.  I like them much better than the flip chart markers!!

Pinterest….

oh, it’s really a love-hate relationship!!! I LOVE that I find so many new ideas, but I drive myself CRAZY trying to make everything!!!  Well, this weekend I went to a “pinterest” party!!  Some of these things we made there but some of it I made at home.  Plus, my friend let me borrow her Cricut machine and I absolutely love it!!

Busy Summer!

Where has the time gone?  I have been super busy this summer!!  Here are a few things that have been keeping me busy:

We took a cruise to the Bahamas in June.

Three years ago, my sister and brother in law felt led to be missionaries.  They have been letting the Lord deal with their lives since then.  The day came for them to be full time missionaries in Eleuthera, Bahamas.  It is an island east of Nassau.  They will both teach there at a boarding school.

The part that I am soo sooo sad about is that I had to say goodbye to this sweet face….

My professional goal…

At the end of this current school year, I set a goal for myself that I would be a better documenter!  I am making myself an all in one binder that holds everything from parent documentation, behavior documentation, team documentation (since I am grade level chair), and MANY other things!!!!!  I am going to be better organized!  Here is a little something I made that I am going to print for each child so that I can be sure I am talking to EACH parent regularly (good and bad things).
