State Fair of Texas!

Last weekend we decided to visit the fair. We went on the last day which was probably not a great idea! Lol!!!

Big Tex is back, bigger and better than ever!!!!

One of our favorite things to do (besides eat) at the fair is the car show. I am in love with this car!!!! Too bad I am about 2 years away from buying a new car!!! I still love my Saturn!!

Besides the Fletchers corny dog and tater twisters, I also had fried pumpkin pie!! To die for!!!!

They were passing out free twinkies too!! I made the hubby pose with mr. Twinky!! Love it!!!

We had a great time but my foot got very tired and there were too many people there. So we left and went home. :)

Friday randoms

One-We learned about Christopher Columbus this week. We did some writing to go with it. Here is what one of my littles wrote! :)

"They need clothes because they can not be naked ."  Lol!!! Notice the yellow lines? That is how I am getting some of my struggling writers to write more! It is working like a charm!!!

Two-I love my new burlap Toms that were delivered today!!!

Three-It looks like I will probably have achilles surgery right before Christmas. I better get busy with sub plans!!

Four-If you have been reading my blog, you know my sister, BIL, and nephew are missionaries in the Bahamas. Every month I send them a care package. This month I put Snoopy and Charlie Brown in there. My nephew LOVED them!!!

Helloooo…it’s been a while!!

So much has been going on.  I haven’t even shared my classroom pictures yet!! I have lots of new things on my plate at school this year.  I am way beyond stressed. My foot trouble continues.  I have been in physical therapy for that.  I will probably have surgery right before Christmas.  My husband has been working like a crazy person! 

I have come up with a fun little mini unit for Halloween!! 

We are off from school tomorrow!!! Yay!!  Have a good week. 

Whew! What a week!!!

Well i survived the first week of school! I still haven't taken pics of my classroom!! That is so unlike me. I have had 24 firsties all week. Trying to assess them all has been tough! Thank goodness for a 3 day weekend!! 

We are excited for college football! We are on our way to Houston right now to see Mississippi State play at Reliant Stadium!

Teacher Toolbox

I got rid of my teacher desk this year so I needed somewhere to keep my supplies!  So this toolbox was my solution.

If you click on the picture above you can download the labels for free!  There are 18 labels.  I thought the blank set would be editable but I couldn’t figure it out.  Maybe you can.  You can always write on them though. 

My first official day (without kids) is Monday.  Summer is over.  I am super excited about this year though!!  My team is still together and we have a new principal.  Yay!!

Out of my Mind….a book review

I finished this book before I left for my trip.  It is awesome!!  It is about a girl with cerebral palsy who can’t talk.  However, she is brilliant and has a photographic memory.  No one knows how smart she is.  Except her mom.  Her mom believed in her.  And she had no limits.  This is a very quick read and you won’t regret reading it.  It was really cheap in the Kindle store, but I’m not sure if it still is.  I read it in 1 day.
