Caribbean Cruise 2013

This year we cruised on the Carnival Magic out of Galveston on June 23rd.  Our itinerary included Jamaica, Grand Cayman Island, and Cozumel.  We had such a great time!!  My husband just started his new job in March after being laid off in January. So, this was a much needed vacation for him.  Picture overload coming!!

Next stop---Jamaica!  We decided to spend the day at an all inclusive resort.  We don’t regret it for one bit. It was a very relaxing day! It was a beautiful resort!

Next stop:  Grand Cayman Islands!!  We decided to swim with the stingrays at Stingray City.  Then we ate at Margaritaville.

 

 

 

 

Next stop:  Cozumel---It was raining when we arrived.  We decided to take a taxi downtown.  We ate lunch at Senor Frogs.  We did a little shopping downtown and then went back to cruise terminal and did a little bit more shopping.  This was our 2nd time in Cozumel.

Chair back covers

My mom retired at the end of this past school year.  And I have had her very busy ever since!!  She has made me 2 dresses and now she is working on 24 chair back covers. My mama must sure love me because I sure am keeping her busy!!!  LOL  Here is one of them completed.  I am going to use them to keep their math journals, folders, etc….

Catching up…

It’s been a while!  I have been so busy!!  This summer is just flying by and that makes me a little sad!!!  Here is a recap of what has been keeping me busy!

My husband must really love me.  He bought me front row seats to a Sandi Patty concert back in June for our 10th anniversary!!  (He doesn’t really like her!)  That’s why he must REALLY love me!!! 

She looked really beautiful!!!  I was mesmerized!!!!

 

This was my first time at the Meyerson!  It is very beautiful on the inside!!! 

Here I am all dressed up and I even wore makeup!!!  I can count the times on one hand that I have worn makeup this summer!!  This is my husband’s favorite dress on me so I decided to wear it that night.

On the 23rd, we drove down to Galveston and went on our cruise!!  (I’ll do a post all by itself for the cruise!)  It was wonderful!!!

July 4th, my family all came to my house.  (except my Bahama sister’s family!)  We were very sad that they could not be here with us.  We did get to skype them though.  We had some really good food!! (and lots of leftovers!)

and now on to the yucky part of my summer…..

My right foot has been hurting for months.  I have a heel spur which continuously rips my Achilles.  So, now I am in a walking boot for 4 weeks.  Boo!  3 years ago I had this same problem with my left foot and ended up having surgery.  This surgery was on July 1st and I was out of commission until November!!

This is everything all healed up nicely.  It didn’t come easy though.  I am hoping it doesn’t involve surgery this time. 

Tomorrow I will post about a project my mom has been working on for a while which I am very excited about!!!!

This week...

My mom and dad came to town Monday. Yesterday i took my poor daddy to the dentist. 4 root canals, 4 crowns, and 5 fillings later, we left the dentist. During that time my mom and I snuck in a Posados and Target trip in!! 

Today my in laws are coming to town. They always come and puppysit this rotten girl--/

Today i started a little project. Im not doing individual school boxes next year. That stressed me way too much out last year. Im going back to my basket in the center of the tables again. I made these pencil cups to go in baskets using my silhouette. (I really love that thing!) I bought the cups 4 to a pack at Target. 

Lastly, here is a sweet note from a former student who was in my scrapbooking enrichment cluster this spring!! Love that girl!!

Oh, one more thing, i am loving shellac! I found a place that i love! (And the perfect bubble bath color!!)

I love summer!

So far I have been very busy this summer!!  Here is what I have been up to---

Our first official day of summer, my team and I jumped on an airplane and headed to Florida!! 

The first picture is the private beach that we went to every day!  It was so beautiful!  The second is the beach house that my co-worker owns!!  It was just us 4 girls!  The third picture is the beach club pool.

What a relaxing day at the beach!!

We got dressed up and headed for dinner!!  This place called Thirty-A was delicious!

Our last night there and we got a little silly.  Here is Paige making kale chips and pretending to be on a cooking show!! 

We were sad to come home.  We had quite the adventure getting home though.  One of our flights was cancelled so we were flying standby.  After the 4th flight, we finally got on the plane!!  I had to get home because the next day was my 10th year anniversary!!

Here we are on our 10th.  We went to Saltgrass Steakhouse. 

The next day (15th), we went to the Bishop Arts District and ate at Hatties.  It was very good!  I got the Fried Green Tomato/Bacon/Smoked Pimiento Cheese sandwich and salad.  Very delish!!  Stephen got pecan crusted catfish. 

I managed to sneak in Hobby Lobby and pick out some fabric for my bulletin boards.  My room is hot pink and lime green.  I love these 2 colors together!!  I can’t shut down my school brain.

Yesterday we went to Fair Park to see the musical Sister Act!!  It was amazing!!!!  I loved every single minute of it!!!!

Today is just a lazy rainy day at home.  My cleaning people are here and I am shut up in my office, out of their way!! 

On Sunday we will be getting on this!!!  I am so excited to go to Jamaica, Grand Cayman Island, and Cozumel!!!
