My hubby bought me tickets to see Martina McBride for Christmas. He also bought an autographed poster for my craft room. We went to dinner at Carino's and then we went to the concert. That girl can sing! We really enjoyed ourselves!

Show us your life: Alma Maters
I went to school at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas! I'm a Lumberjack. I graduated in 2000 with an education degree. I really did like SFA. I really didn't get plugged in as much as I should have. I worked a lot during college. My 2 sisters and I all graduated there with an education degree. In fact, my older sister and I graduated on the same day! How cool is that? She started college, then got married, had a baby, then returned to school. She was determined to graduate with me, and she did! :) I had one proud mama that day!

No school!
It has been a day of 2 cups of coffee, laundry, staying in my PJs, breakfast from McDonalds, lesson plans, Glee, Biggest Loser, and playing with little Miss Sippi! The hubby tried to make it to work but turned around and came back home. The Dallas mixmaster is no bueno during inclement weather! Poor thing, he drives an hour each way to get to work. I was so relieved when he called and told me he was coming back home.
Who all is having a snow day today? What are you doing today?

I wish I had brought stuff home to do some lesson planning. I wasn't feeling well when I left school on Monday so I just left empty handed. And now I am regretting that decision!!! :)
I am catching up on sleep and DVR though. I wonder if there will be a day 4????? We'll see!
Oh, in my boredom, I am trying to figure out this blog design stuff. to be continued.....

Meet the Teacher....
I'm linking up with Cara at the First Grade Parade (which is a WoNdErFuL blog by the way!)....
About me......I am 34 years old. I am OCD, impatient, I love dogs, love to travel.....I have been married nearly 8 years to the best hubby around! He is 5 years older than me. We were introduced by my baby sis. She had gone on a mission trip and just happened to be at his churchh. She introduced us and the rest as they say is history! :) eI have a 3 year old child, I mean, cockapoo! She brings such joy to us, especially since we have been dealing with infertility. We have been trying to conceive since 2005. We have been to doctor after doctor, 3 IUI's, clomid, you name it, we've tried it. Everything except IVF. That is a last resort for us. I know the Lord intends for us to be parents, but it's all in His timing. We have faith that it will happen one day.
I graduated in May 2000 with my Bachelor of Science Interdisciplinary Studies from SFA in Nacogdoches. I have been teaching 9 years:

I graduated in May 2000 with my Bachelor of Science Interdisciplinary Studies from SFA in Nacogdoches. I have been teaching 9 years:
- August 2000-May 2003: 3rd Grade in a small East Texas school
- Insert getting married here, moving to Alabama, substituted for 2 years
- August 2005-May 2007: got my same exact job back as before, teaching 3rd grade in the same exact classroom, how cool is that???
- August 2007 to present: Hubby got job in Dallas area, I got a teaching job here too! Taught 3rd grade the first year and then 1st grade ever since.
I heart my firsties! I can't imagine ever teaching any other grade!!
I couldn't figure out how to copy /paste the Q & A, but I'll answer a few questions!
I originally wanted to be a nurse. I was a sophomore in college when I felt God leading me to become a teacher. You all, teaching was not what I originally wanted to do. I can't imagine now doing anything else! There are days I think, "I really get paid to do this? I love it so!" And then there are days I think, "I better get paid for THIS!" LOL I heart teaching!!
My guilty pleasures: reality TV, Mexican food, Dr. Pepper....just to name a few!
One random fact about me: I LOVE cruising! I would cruise once a month if I could afford it!!! Love it!

a whole lotta nothing....
I can't believe it has been so long since I have posted!!! I have been so behind. Today it's a snow day. Well, ice day really. There's not much snow at my house. The roads are messy. So, it's just me and my two favorite people, Stephen and Sippi.
This past weekend I went to Nacogdoches to spend time with the family. I also got my hair cut and colored by someone new and he did a fabulous job and made me laugh a bunch too. He is so stinkin' funny! And he was SO much cheaper than my girl here. It was also my mom and dad's 42nd wedding anniversary.
Umm....this past weekend was also emotional for me. We ALMOST got a new puppy. She was very sweet. (an 8 month old cockapoo) Her name was Paisley. It just totally didn't work out. I had her for a night. I came to the realization that I couldn't have a new dog right now. The timing was just not right. I am so very sad though. Does anyone want a new cockapoo? I would love for her to have a new mommy!
School is going ok. I still can't catch up. I don't know if I ever will! That's about it for me.....
