Does anyone else have any more ideas? We have done stamps, playdough, wikki stix, rainbow scratch paper, markers, magnetic letters.....we need more ideas in Room 125!!! :)
YES! My colleauges just started this activity with our kindergarten kids to work on sight words. Its called "Roll and Record"
You write or type the words you want onto a cube or die. Then the kids roll it and record (write) the word on the sheet. They keep rolling until one of the words "wins" and the graph is full. Here is the cube template: http://daretodifferentiate.wikispaces.com/file/view/blank-cube-template.pdf
Here is the recording page: https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&pid=explorer&chrome=true&srcid=1Ke8F7rfiH2MVyLLOjkNtkkfprN5hoWALo07o0Qo5er5zJIhthjaNqhZU0Yjf&hl=en&authkey=CPfBqNkJ
My students LOVE this. We play it with teen numbers, tally makes, shapes, sight words, and so on.
I usually do it small group (so I only have to make 4-6 of the cubes)
